Reid, Gomez to Hershey

North Charleston, SC--South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that center Mike Jickling would be in the lineup tonight for the Stingrays ,when the team hosts the Trenton Titans ant 7:05. Jickling was signed after the Stingrays lost Matt Reid and Robin Gomez to Hershey of the AHL last night.

Reid is the leading scorer on the Stingrays this season with 29 points on 13 goals and 16 assists in 32 games. It is his first call up since he played two games with the Portland Pirates of the AHL in 2003.

Gomez spent training camp with the Bears and the Washington Capitals and is currently on a two way contract with Hershey. This is the fourth year professional's second call up this season. He had 29 penalty minutes in two games with the Bears earlier in the campaign. This season, Gomez has 17 points in 31 games with the Stingrays.

Jickling retired at the close of last season with the Stingrays and currently works as a mortgage broker in Charleston. A year ago he had nine points in 47 games with the Rays.

"Mike has been keeping himself in good shape this year and should be able to fill a need for us," commented Fitzsimmons.

The Stingrays have two home games this weekend beginning tonight with the Trenton Titans at 7:05. After hosting the Gwinnett Gladiators tomorrow evening, the Rays will begin a four game road trip at Columbia on Sunday.
