San Diego Gulls News Release
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - The San Diego Gulls announced Friday that defenseman Grady Moore has been placed on the seven-day injured list with concussion-like symptoms, suffered Wednesday against the Utah Grizzlies. The roster move, which is retroactive to Thursday, means the Gulls will only have 14 healthy skaters for Friday's re-match in Utah.
The 27-year-old native of Castlegar, British Columbia leads all San Diego defensemen with 23 assists and 25 points. His 25 points is tied for 18th among ECHL blue-liners and his plus-minus rating of +5 is the highest among active Gulls players. Moore suffered the injury after getting checked into the boards during San Diego's 3-2 loss to the Grizzlies Wednesday.
Moore's injury leaves the Gulls with 14 healthy skaters for Friday's math-up in Utah. Of the 14 skaters, nine are forwards and five are defenseman. Alex Kim, recovering from a broken collar bone, and Alex Rogosheske, recovering from a torn ACL, both remain on the 30-day injured list. Kelly Askew, recuperating from a broken ankle, will still be out for another couple of weeks. Meanwhile Richard Keyes is expected to miss his second straight game with a groin pull.
Mike Lappan, the Gulls sales executive who signed earlier in the week, is not expected to play. He could possibly be available for an emergency situation.
Friday's game in Utah is slated for 6:05 p.m. (PST). The Gulls will close out their road trip next week in Las Vegas and Bakersfield. All games can be heard on KLSD 1360AM and www.sandiegogulls.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play (NOTE THAT FRIDAY'S GAME IN UTAH WILL BEGIN AIRING ON KLSD AT 7 P.M. PST).
