
Everblades Fall to Fresno 4-1

FRESNO, CA - The Florida Everblades (22-9-2) opened their five-game west coast trip with a 4-1 loss to the Fresno Falcons (19-5-8), who picked up 25 saves by goaltender Brett Jaeger, on Tuesday night at the Save Mart Center.
The Everblades fell behind early after Fresno tallied a pair of goals in the first 2:30 of the first period. J.F. Plourde opened the scoring by sneaking a shot from the right boards past Everblades goaltender Phil Osaer at 1:02 of the game. Shawn Mather gave Fresno a 2-0 lead with his 13th goal of the season less than three minutes into the contest.
The Everblades responded with a power play goal by Paul Cabana at 6:22 to cut the Falcons' lead in half, but Fresno regained the two-goal lead after a power play goal by John Wroblewski with 5:39 to go in the opening period.
After a scoreless second period, the Falcons closed out the scoring at 11:29 of the third period on Wroblewski's second goal of the night.
Osaer suffered the loss allowing four goals on 35 Fresno shots to fall to 10-3-2, while Jaeger earned the win by turning away 25 of 26 Florida shots, which raised his record to 13-4-6.
On the power play, the Everblades finished the game 1-for-7, while the Falcons closed out the game going 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
The Everblades return to action on Saturday, January 13 when they take on the Stockton Thunder at 10:30 p.m. eastern time from Stockton, CA.
