'Blades add Black to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the team has signed and added forward Greg Black to their roster. Black will be in uniform for the Everblades tonight vs. Fresno.

Black, 23, returns for professional hockey for the first time since the 2003-04 season when he split time between the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL. During his rookie season in '03-'04, Black skated in 39 games with the IceCats tallying nine points (4g, 5a) and racking up 129 penalty minutes. In his 15 games with the Rivermen, Black notched five goals, two assists and picked up 69 PIM.

Prior to turning pro, the native of Kamloops, BC spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Seattle Thunderbirds. In 258 career WHL games, Black scored 143 points (80g, 63a) and totaled 700 PIM.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on Fresno Falcons at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
