Alaska Aces News Release

PHOENIX - Defenseman Doug Lynch and forward D.J. King have been assigned to the Aces by Alaska's American Hockey League affiliate in Peoria.

With captain Keith McCambridge expected to be out for the remainder of the road trip, the arrival of Lynch gives the Aces five defensemen in their lineup for the first time since McCambridge battled through a 5-0 win at Phoenix last Thursday. The 22-year-old Lynch, originally a second-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2001, appeared in two NHL games during the 2003-04 season while mostly playing for Edmonton's AHL affiliates, first in Toronto and then last year in Edmonton. In 29 games for the Rivermen this season, he had two assists with a +2 rating while accumulating 57 minutes in penalties.

King, expected to be with the Aces for only the four remaining games of this road trip, has scored three goals with two assists and 109 PIM in 33 games for Peoria. The 21-year-old Saskatoon native was drafted in the sixth round by St. Louis in 2002 and, in his rookie pro season last year, accounted for six goals, eight assists, and 178 PIM in Worcester, at the time the AHL affiliate for the Blues.

The Aces, 25-4-3 overall and just two points behind West Division leader Las Vegas with three games in hand, play the Roadrunners, who have lost nine straight, tonight and tomorrow night at 5:11 p.m. AST. After Friday's series finale at 5:11 p.m. AST against Phoenix, Alaska finishes up its eight-game, 11-day trip at San Diego Saturday at 6:00 p.m. AST.

All Alaska Aces games, home and away, are broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at www.alaskaaces.com. In addition, all home games and selected road contests will be available on a pay-per-view basis on the internet, courtesy of B2 Networks.
