ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
The SeaWolves and Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) meet in the final game of a three-game series tonight at Jerry Uht Park. The âWolves have picked up their first series victory since taking three of four from Altoona at "The Uht" April 24-27. The âWolves have won four of their last five games and are 5-5 in their last 10. The SeaWolves are also looking for their first series sweep since taking four from Bowie to open the season. The âWolves are in fifth place in the South, 10.5 games behind the first place Baysox. Erie can move up in the standings into a fourth place tie with a win tonight over the R-Phils. Last night's one-run victory over Reading was only the fourth when their opponent scores first and their fifth when not hitting a home run in a game...Leftie Danny Christensen takes the mound for Erie, making his 10th start of the season. He picked up a win in his last start at Akron, tossing his best outing of the season. In the game, Christensen went seven solid innings, allowing a run on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts. The âWolves have won two straight games with Christensen on the mound...The Phillies will send RHP Andrew Carpenter to the mound, making his 11th start of the season. Carpenter has dropped his last two starts. In his most recent outing at Binghamton, Carpenter gave up seven runs on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts in five innings of work. Carpenter is 1-4 with a 8.75 ERA on the road in five starts. Opponents are batting .320 against Carpenter this season.
