Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies are proud to announce that Drew MacIntyre has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Toronto community during the 2013-14 season.

As a veteran leader and an integral part of the Toronto Marlies organization, Drew has consistently led by example throughout the course of the season. His commitment to creating a personalized experience for every fan during community events has inspired many of our young players. During each community appearance, Drew takes time to interact with fans around the rink, hospital or school.

Drew's involvement in the Toronto community this past season has left lasting impressions on fans, teammates and staff. He has taken it upon himself to continue to better both the organization and the community in which he lives. Drew's commitment and dedication this season have had a noticeable impact both on and off the ice.

Drew is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL's 2013-14 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League later this month.
