
Delano Blasts Two Home Runs in Rox Win

St. Cloud, MN- Garrett Delano (Brown) launched two home-runs as St. Cloud (25-19) beat the Mankato MoonDogs (20-25) by a score of 10-1 at the Rock Pile. Trevor Koenig (St. Cloud State) struck out a season-high seven batters in the win.
Jordan Barth (Augustana) got the scoring started on an RBI-double in the bottom of the first inning and scored Gus Steiger (South Dakota State) from first base. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning, Delano blasted a three-run home run over the left field wall and put the Rox ahead 4-1.
The scoring continued in the bottom of the fourth inning as Brady Harlan (Oklahoma) hit an RBI-single up the middle and scored Freddy Achecar (Georgetown) from second base.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rox loaded the bases. Steiger was hit by a pitch and scored Jack Kelly (Northwestern) to extend the lead to 6-1.
Delano was back at it in the bottom of the seventh inning, drilling a leadoff home run over the left field wall. Ben Carew (Kent State) hit a two-run triple into the gap in left field and scored Kelly and Achecar. Harlan would later bring in Carew on a single.
Following Koenig's strong start, Riley Ahern (St. Cloud State) tossed 1.2 innings and struck out two batters. Drew Garrett (Johnson County CC) struck out two batters in the ninth inning on the mound.

The Rox will finish the two-game series against Mankato on Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Franklin Rogers Ballpark.
St. Cloud returns home on Thursday, July 18th against the Bismarck Larks at 7:05 p.m. It's Summertime St. Patty's Night presented by Grain Belt Premium.
