Green Bay Rockers News Release
Mequon, WI - For the first time since June 5th, the Green Bay Booyah found a way to win on the road in a 5-2 victory over the Chinooks on Thursday night.
The Booyah were forced to comeback in the game after Lakeshore scored first in the bottom of the second inning. Green Bay responded immediately in the third after Brady West took the first pitch he saw off the wall in right field for a two RBI double. The hit brought in Mike Ferri from second and Cooper Morrison from first.
In the top of the fourth, Green Bay scored yet again, this time off an RBI double from Jacob Buchberger that scored Nick Kreutzer from second base. Buchberger finished the day 1-4 with that RBI. The Booyah scored again in the fifth inning when Blaise Maris brought in Jarrett Ford on a sacrifice fly.
At the plate, West finished 2-4 with two RBIs in total. Morrison went 1-3, and Ford went 1-4 with two runs scored. Kreutzer finished the day 1-3 with an RBI on a walk, and Maris also went 1-3. In total, the Booyah picked up nine hits, four walks, and only struck out six times.
On the rubber, Zach Chappell finished the day after going 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out five. Dalton Wiggins shined again out of the bullpen, going 3.2 innings, striking out four, and picking up his first win of the season. In the ninth, Tanner Lane closed the door on the Chinooks night, grabbing his fourth save of the season.
Green Bay and the Chinooks meet up once again tomorrow at Capital Credit Union Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and Tommy Miller takes the mound for Green Bay as the Booyah look for their fourth straight win.
Capital Credit Union Park features over 1,500 free parking spots within a 5 minute walk. Visit booyahbaseball.com for details.
