Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Rosemont, IL--Admirals goalie Mark Dekanich stopped 42 shots and two players scored their first goals with Milwaukee to lead the Admirals to a 3-1 win over the Chicago Wolves at Allstate Arena Friday night.

Dekanich stopped 12 shots in the first and third periods and 18 in the second for his 22nd win of the season.

Milwaukee got on the board first with good activity in front of Chicago goalie Peter Mannino. Grant Lewis' shot from the left point glanced off the right leg of Mannino and bounced off the end wall to Brock McBride at the left post. McBride's shot pinged off the pipe into the slot for Connor Shields to bury into the net. The goal, scored at 3:01 of the first period, was Shields' first as an Admiral. Lewis and McBride recorded the assists.

Milwaukee claimed a 2-0 lead just 27 seconds into the second period. On the power play, Milwaukee's Chris Mueller passed the puck from the left corner to Lewis at the right point. With Ryan Thang skating left to right in front of Mannino, Lewis fed a pass that was a bit behind Thang. Thang reached back and spun clockwise to deflect the puck past Mannino for his 10th goal of the season and third on the power play. Lewis and Mueller recorded the assists.

The Wolves got on the board at 12:02 of the second period when Arturs Kulda's shot from the right circle deflected through the legs of Dekanich for his fourth goal of the season.

Milwaukee gained the two-goal cushion back at 3:42 of the third period. An errant Wolves pass at neutral went to Admirals defenseman Patrick Coulombe. Coulombe skated to the top of the right circle and fired a wristshot off the left post into the net for his first goal as an Admiral.
