Atlanta Returns Mannino to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned goaltender PETER MANNINO to the Chicago Wolves.

MANNINO backed up two games for Atlanta after being recalled on Feb. 28. He kicked out 26 of 28 shots in the Wolves 5-2 win over the Peoria Rivermen in his last action on Feb. 26.

The 27-year-old netminder has amassed a 15-14-3 record, 3.02 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in a team high 35 appearances this season. He has held opponents to two or fewer goals in 15 of his games this season, which includes four of his last five tilts.

The Farmington Hills, Mich., native has also appeared in two contests with the Thrashers this season, stopping 31 of 36 shots in 72:47 of relief duty.
