Wild Reassigns Ortmeyer to Aeros

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned RW Jed Ortmeyer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ortmeyer, 32 (9/3/78), has collected three shots, two penalty minutes and averaged 7:52 in time on ice per game in three contests with Minnesota this season. He has notched 10 points (4-6=10) and 17 penalty minutes (PIM) in 24 games with the Aeros, after compiling three points (2-1=3) and 17 PIM in 22 games with the San Antonio Rampage.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Omaha, Neb., has skated in 309 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Nashville, San Jose and Minnesota, accumulating 51 points (21-30=51) and 147 PIM in seven seasons. In 2009-10 with San Jose, Ortmeyer collected a career-high 19 points (8-11=19) in 76 regular season games while notching one assist in four playoff games. He was signed as a free agent by the Wild on Jan. 5. Ortmeyer wears No. 29 with Minnesota and No. 22 with Houston.
