July 16, 2019 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Gwinnett, GA) - Enyel De Los Santos (4-4) turned in a quality start and even provided a little offense in the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (47-46) 4-2 win over the Gwinnett Stripers (54-41) on Tuesday evening.
He allowed just two runs over six innings, while giving up three hits and issuing two walks. He recorded six strikeouts in one of his better pitching performances as an IronPig this season.
He was aided by Logan Morrison's two-run home run in his first at-bat as IronPig against Kevin Gausman (0-1) in the top of the second inning. De Los Santos' RBI single came with one out in the inning that allowed Malquin Canelo to score.
Jack Lopez hit a two-run home run off De Los Santos in the bottom of the sixth inning. Phil Gosselin homered off Kurt Hoekstra in the top of the eighth inning to give the Pigs a 4-2 lead.
Fernando Salas earned his first save of the season by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning. Tom Windle and Tyler Gilbert each tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
The IronPigs play for a series win on Wednesday evening against the Stripers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The 2019 IronPigs season is the team's 12th as the top affiliate for the Philadelphia Phillies and 12th at Coca-Cola Park. Follow the IronPigs on Twitter at @IronPigs and like them on Facebook via www.facebook.com/LHVIronPigs.
