Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Thursday Night vs. Chicago: Mathieu Aubin tipped in the game-winning goal with 7:52 gone in the third period as the Cyclones held on to defeat the Express by a 4-3 final score in front of 2,886 at U.S. Bank Arena on Thursday night. The major storyline, however, was a full-scale line brawl that took place in the second period. In total, 103 penalty minutes were handed out in the middle frame of Thursday's game including five game misconduct penalties.

About Wednesday Night vs. Kalamazoo: A.J. Jenks scored twice while Justin Vaive and Anthony Luciani each added a pair of assists as the Cyclones cruised past the Wings by a 5-1 final score in front of 3,366 at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday night. It was Cincinnati's largest margin of victory this season and tied the highest-shot output of the year (46).

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

Closing out 2011 with a Bang: Riding a three-game winning streak, the Cyclones will play two more games before the calendar flips to 2012 beginning tomorrow night against the Kalamazoo Wings. Then, this Friday, the Clones will visit the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. Jarrod Skalde's team has already sealed their fourth winning December in the past six seasons with a record of 6-2.

Pelech the Point Machine: Cyclones centerman Mike Pelech is on pace for, by far, his best pro season ever. He has registered a point in nine of his last 11 games and is tied for second on the team in scoring. He is on pace for a 65-point campaign.

Strong Between the Pipes: Cyclones goalie Brian Foster has won five of his first six games since being assigned from San Antonio, including three straight. His 2.68 goals-against average ranks ninth-best among all active goaltenders with at least five starts this season.
