Watt Headed Back to Monarchs

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, announced today that J.D. Watt has again been recalled by the Reign's AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs.

Watt, 24, was assigned to the Reign by Manchester on Oct. 5, 2011. The right winger recorded seven points (1g, 6a) and 66 penalty minutes in 22 games with the Reign before being recalled to Manchester on December 13. Watt had four penalty minutes in two games with Manchester and was re-assigned to Ontario on December 19. However, Watt returns to the Monarchs before entering a game for the Reign as the team has been on a break.

The Cremona, Alberta native is no stranger to the AHL as he has spent time in the league since 2008, appearing in 149 contests and tallying 21 points (10g, 11a). Watt has skated with the Abbotsford Heat for the majority of his time in the AHL, 97 games. He played with the Quad City Flames for 42 games, and the San Antonio Rampage for 10.
