Haddad Called up to Bridgeport; Cheverie up to Portland

Gladiators forward Joey Haddad has been called up to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. In a separate transactions, goaltender Marc Cheverie has been re-assigned from the Gladiators to the Portland Pirates by the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League.

Haddad makes his first trip of the season to the American Hockey League. He currently leads the Gladiators in scoring with 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 26 games this season.

Haddad split time during each of his first two professional seasons with the Wheeling Nailers and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL. He had 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 50 games with Wheeling last year and collected four points (one goal, three assists) in 16 AHL games.

Cheverie has posted a 3.05 goals against average and a .900 save percentage in 13 games this season with Gwinnett. He has recorded a 3-2-8 record with Gwinnett this season. The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native has also been called up to Portland of the AHL two prior times this season and has appeared in one game while on recall.

Cheverie was acquired by the Coyotes on September 9th from the Florida Panthers in exchange for center Justin Bernhardt. The second year pro split time last season with the Cincinnati Cyclones and the Rochester Americans of the AHL. He recorded a 13-9-7 record and a 3.11 goals against average with the Cyclones and had a 2-7-1 record and an .886 save percentage with the Americans.

The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native played three seasons at the University of Denver from 2007-2010 before he began his professional career. In three seasons at Denver, Cheverie notched a 48-18-13 record and a .926 save percentage in 80 career collegiate games. The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
