WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL announced today that the league's leading scorer, forward Chad Costello, has been loaned to the Springfield Falcons of the AHL. In addition, rookie defenseman Jake Marto has been re-assigned to the Eagles by their AHL affiliate, the St. John's IceCaps.

Costello leads the ECHL with 48 points (16-32-48) in 29 games, while also ranking among the league's top five in goals (16, T-4th), plus/minus rating (+19, 1st), shots (133, 1st) & shorthanded points (4, T-1st). This will be Costello's second stint in the AHL; he recorded one assist in eight games last season with the Lake Erie Monsters.

Marto returns to the Eagles after spending most of the season in the AHL. In 12 games with the IceCaps, the rookie defenseman has recorded three assists, an even plus/minus rating & two penalty minutes. In eight games with Colorado, Marto has registered three assists, a +1 plus/minus & four PIMs.

Marto will join the Eagles in time for their trip to Alaska Tuesday, where they'll take on the defending champion Aces Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. Entering the week, the Eagles had the second-most points in the ECHL (39) -- trailing only Alaska (45) -- and were riding a seven-game winning streak, and a 11-game point streak.
