Chris Bruton Re-Called to Peoria

Alaska Aces rookie forward, Chris Bruton has been loaned to the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Monday. This is Bruton's second call up to Peoria in December. The Aces host the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, in the final series of 2011. It's a matchup of the top two teams in the ECHL. Tickets are on sale for all three games. Bruton, 24, has 13 points (6g, 7a) in 27 Aces games this season. Additionally, Bruton's 60 penalty minutes lead the Aces, and rank second among all ECHL rookies, along with his eight major penalties. Bruton spent three games with the Rivermen earlier this month in his AHL debut. Bruton joined the Aces this season following a three-year collegiate career at Acadia University. He was better than a point per game player for the Axemen, combining for 74 points (34g, 40a) in 69 contests. The 5"11", 205 lbs. Bruton also threw his weight around chipping in 118 penalty minutes. Before entering college, Bruton captained the Spokane Chiefs to a Memorial Cup Championship in 2008, playing alongside former Ace Judd Blackwater. That season he finished third in team scoring and second in penalty minutes. It was the perfect culmination of a solid WHL career for Bruton who had 63 points (26g, 37a) in 67 games that season.
