TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors play for the first time since their four-day Christmas break with a home contest against the Stockton Thunder. It is the fifth meeting of 13 between the Central Valley rivals. Bakersfield is 1-3-0-0 against Stockton this season and 0-2-0-0 at Rabobank Arena. The Condors won the last meeting between the two sides, 5-2, in Stockton on Dec. 11. Tonight's game is the first of six consecutive home games for the Condors against Stockton in the season series which spans all the way until February 25th.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield scored just 32 seconds into the first period and took a 2-1 lead with them into the first intermission, but could not fend off the visiting Colorado Eagles, falling by a 3-2 scoreline on Wed. Dec. 21 at Rabobank Arena. F Peter Boyd collected the other tally for Bakersfield.
Stockton is coming off an extended eight day break with their last game coming on Dec. 17 in Stockton against Idaho. The Thunder have lost their last three games after losing to the Condors 5-2 on Dec. 11 and being swept by Idaho on Dec. 16 and 17. All three games came on home ice. The Thunder are in Las Vegas tomorrow night for the annual Midnight Game.
CONDORS NOTES
F Peter Boyd has eight points (2g-6a) in his last eight games...The Condors have been without Scott Freeman, who is tied for the team league in scoring with 25 points, since he scored twice and added an assist against Stockton on Dec. 11...The Condors have the top 3 rookies in shorthanded goals with Freeman (3), Boyd (2), and Dee (2)...Bakersfield is one of five ECHL teams to average over 5,000 fans per game.
THUNDER NOTES
Stockton is 8-4-0-0 away from home this season...F Garet Hunt is second in the ECHL in penalty minutes with 127 and leads the league with 13 major penalties; he is suspended tonight for the second of three games for his actions in a game against IDH on Dec. 16...RW Cameron Abney leads all rookies with 93 PIMS...Stockton is 8-2-1-0 when scoring first.
