Express Weekly: Express Return from Four-Game Road Trip on Friday

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, play the final game of a four game road trip in Toledo on Tuesday night, and then return home to the Sears Centre Arena for three straight games this weekend.

Cincinnati opened up the scoring in a back-and-forth contest with a goal 3:36 into the first period, but the Express struck right back, as RW Tyler Donati tallied twice at 4:35 and 12:55 to put the Express ahead 2-1. After Cyclones RW Mathieu Aubin evened the game at 2-2 before the end of the first period, LW Devin DiDiomete put the Express back on top 12:40 into the middle frame. The Cyclones evened the score at 3-3 just 26 seconds later, and added the game's final goal in the third period to earn the 4-3 win.

Team Notes:

The Express had their highest team total for penalty minutes in a single game on Thursday when they picked up 71 minutes in penalties.Thursday's contest also marked the highest PIM total by an opposing team, as the Cyclones were assessed 73 minutes in penalties, as well as the highest combined total, with both Chicago and Cincinnati combining for 144 PIM in the game.After the second period on Thursday, Chicago had been handed 65 PIM but had not been shorthanded at any point during the game.D Nathan Lutz set the Chicago Express record for PIM in a single game with 25 on Thursday.The Express lost for the first time this season when out-shooting their opponent on the road.
