Cyclones Solve the Mystery, Alaska
March 11, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
The Cyclones had to travel 3,957 miles to do it, but they found their offense on Wednesday night. The Clones broke out of their offensive slump with a 6-3 win over the Alaska Aces in Anchorage.
The Cyclones stormed to a 4-1 lead in the first period. Evan Cheverie opened the scoring with his fifth of the year at the 9:10 mark of the period. Charles Linglet would even the game at one just over a minute later. After Linglet's goal, the Cyclones exploded for three unanswered markers. Phil Lewandowski, Garrett Prosofsky and Richard Naumann all scored for the Clones in a six-minute span at the end of the first.
In the second, Garrett Prosofsky scored the lone goal with a shorthanded effort with 1:35 left in the period. Prosofsky's second goal of the night extended his team-leading goal total to 20 on the season.
The Aces would rally with two third period goals from Kimbi Daniels and Mark Smith. Josh Harrold slammed the door on Alaska's comeback attempt when he scored a power play marker with five seconds left in the third.
The Cyclones are back in action on Friday in Anchorage. Game time is 11:00 p.m. eastern time with a 10:50 pre-game show on sportsjuice.com
