IceGators Host Theme Nights

Lafayette, LA – The Louisiana IceGators have planned special theme nights for their six remaining home games. Area groups and organizations will be honored and fans will receive ticket discounts and drink specials at the Cajundome.

         Festivities will kick off with the March 17 game against the Columbus Cottonmouths. This game was originally scheduled for January 4, but was moved to St. Patrick's Day so IceGators fans could watch the LSU football team win the National Championship. The St. Patty's Day game will feature a costume contest and $2 green beer. Season ticket holders should use their tickets from the January 4 game for admittance to the Cajundome on March 17.

         Faith and Fellowship Weekend is March 19 and 20 at the Frozen Swamp, locally sponsored by KSJY. A portion of the proceeds from tickets purchased through a local church or religious organization will be donated to A Pregnancy Center and Clinic, a local non-profit group selected by KSJY. Ken Holloway, a local contemporary Christian recording artist, will perform the National Anthem and during the intermissions of the March 19 game.

         The March 19 tilt with the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:05 p.m. is Iberia Parish Appreciation Night. Iberia Parish residents will receive $2 off tickets purchased at the Cajundome box office with an ID. Tickets bought through Iberia Parish schools will include a donation back to the schools. Local sponsors of Iberia Parish Appreciation Night are Unique Creations Flower Shop, The Bayou Companies, LLC., Western Auto, home owned by Ronnie Broussard, Iberia Home Builders Association, Jenerette Chamber of Commerce, Azalea Estates, Carbo Ceramics, Best Western Inn and Suites of New Iberia, McIlhenny, Action Specialties, Wayne M. LaBiche Engineering, Iberia Bank, Morgan's Pharmacy, Community First Bank, Konriko and A&B Trailers, Inc.

         Boy Scout troops from across Acadiana have been invited to attend the March 20 game against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:05 p.m. Each ticket purchased through Boy Scout troops will raise $2 that will be donated back to the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America. Every Boy Scout who attends the game in uniform will receive a special patch at the game. The Erath High School Band will also perform.

         "Pack the Dome Night" is March 27 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. If the game sells out, all fans in attendance will be able to purchase beer and soda for 25 cents during the game. LAHA, the Louisiana Hockey Association, is selling tickets for the March 27 game to raise money for their youth hockey program. Tickets from LAHA are $10, with $5 of the ticket price going back to LAHA. Groups of 10 or more can get special discounts by ordering tickets through the IceGators office.

         The March 27 game also kicks off Fan Appreciation Weekend, which is locally sponsored by KLFY Channel 10, and is the last Saturday home game of the regular season for the IceGators. Division challenger Gwinnett will play back-to-back games against the IceGators at the Cajundome on March 27 and 28. These games will feature fun activities and lots of give-aways and prizes from local sponsors.
