Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, announced Wednesday (Feb. 14) that they have received defenseman Jason Goulet from Bridgeport (AHL). Goulet had been on assignment to Pensacola (ECHL) previously-but will be sent to the Cyclones for the remainder of the season.
Goulet, 23, is in his third professional season. He started the season with Bridgeport (AHL) and appeared in eight games with the club during a pair of stints. Jason has played in 36 games with Pensacola and has netted a pair of goals with six assists for eight points. He also has a +2 plus/minus rating and 101 penalty minutes. Last season (2005-06), Goulet appeared in 64 games with Oklahoma City (CHL) and tallied four goals and six assists for ten points. He amassed 248 penalty minutes and led all defensemen in the league in major penalties with 24.
"This gives us some grit with the defensive corps," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "Jason Goulet is a solid defenseman on the penalty kill and in five-on-five situations."
Goulet may arrive in time for the Cyclones next game, a 7:30pm tilt with Reading tonight (Feb. 14) at U.S. Bank Arena.
