Alaska Aces News Release

LAS VEGAS - Winger Kevin Croxton, currently second among ECHL rookies with 20 goals and 42 points, has been recalled from loan by Alaska's American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Croxton (under a two-way AHL/ECHL contract) will leave the Aces late this afternoon from Las Vegas and arrive in Peoria in time for the Rivermen's road trip to Milwaukee Friday and Omaha Saturday. Peoria, facing a three-games-in-three nights scenario, returns home to play Grand Rapids Sunday. Croxton, a 24-year-old graduate of RPI, has appeared in one game for the Rivermen this season, a 3-1 win over the Griffins November 17, after scoring twice and assisting on two other goals at the end of last season with the Springfield Falcons. One of two Alaska rookies to earn a trip to the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game, Croxton currently ranks third among first-year players in the league with a +16 rating. Teammate and fellow ECHL All-Star Julian Talbot sets the pace at +22.

Alaska's 4-2 loss to Las Vegas last night marked just its second in the last 12 games and only the third in the previous 19. The Aces practice tomorrow in Vegas, then will bus to Phoenix for three more games against the RoadRunners, beginning Friday at 5:11 p.m. AST, with live coverage beginning at 4:50 p.m. on the flagship home of Alaska Aces hockey, KFQD 750 AM. The Aces swept Phoenix last weekend in Anchorage by a combined score of 17-4 and have lost just once in 10 meetings with the 'Runners over two seasons.
