Crunch Release Defenseman Rob LaLonde

Syracuse, NY (February 16, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have released defenseman Rob LaLonde from his professional tryout contract.

LaLonde, 26, appeared in two games with the Crunch, registering four penalty minutes. He has also skated in 27 games with Reading (ECHL) this year, tallying four goals, 13 assists and 53 penalty minutes. In addition, he appeared in seven games with Iowa this season, recording six penalty minutes.

A native of Williamsville, New York, LaLonde has appeared in 19 career American Hockey League games with Lowell (Lock Monsters), Binghamton, Iowa and Syracuse, notching one assist and 31 penalty minutes.

The Crunch's next game is Monday, February 16 as they battle Hershey at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:00 p.m.
