Philadelphia, PA - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms 3-2 on Monday night. Steve Gainey's marker at the start of the third period proved to be the game-winner.

The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 1:37 of the middle frame. Brock Trotter and T.J. Kemp were both stopped by Philadelphia starting goaltender Scott Munroe before David Desharnais grabbed the second rebound and buried the puck past Munroe.

The Phantoms tied the game at 4:34 of the second period. Danny Syvret received the puck from Andreas Nodl before blasting a slapshot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis.

While on the power play, Hamilton regained the lead at 13:57 of the second stanza. Trotter fed a pass to Ben Maxwell, who was positioned in the slot. Maxwell rifled a shot that just squeezed through the pads of Munroe.

18 seconds into the third period, Gainey gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead. Gainey raced down the side boards before he snapped a shot that beat Munroe on the stick side. Kemp earned his second assist of the game on the goal.

Philadelphia cut the lead to one at 2:06 of the final frame. Oskars Bartulis hammered a shot through traffic and towards the net. On the way to the net, the puck bounced off Nate Raduns which changed the puck's direction and beat Denis.

The Bulldogs will finish their five-game road trip on Friday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum.
