Hurricanes Recall Michael Ryan from Albany

RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Michael Ryan from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Ryan, 28, leads Albany with 25 goals and 42 points in 40 games with the River Rats this season. The Boston native has played in six games with the Hurricanes this season, averaging 5:39 of ice time per game. The Hurricanes signed Ryan (6'1", 188 lbs.) as a free agent on Oct. 31, 2008.

The Hurricanes will return to action at the RBC Center on Tuesday, Feb. 17, when the team will honor former defenseman and alternate captain Glen Wesley prior to its game against the Boston Bruins (7 p.m., FS Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network).
