The American Hockey League announced today that Portland Pirates left wing Tim Kennedy has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February, 15, 2009. In four games, Kennedy scored 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) and recorded a plus-5 rating as the Pirates moved within one point of first place Providence.
FOLLOW THE TEAM ON THE ROAD ... Be part of the action as the Pirates make their push for the playoffs! This week, The Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar will televise all four Pirates road games! The Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar is located at 504 Congress Street in Portland.
Tuesday, Feb. 17 - Pirates vs. Falcons 7:00 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 20 - Pirates vs. Phantoms 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, Feb 21 - Pirates vs. Wolf Pack 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 22 - Pirates vs. Sound Tigers 1:00 p.m.
All games will be broadcast courtesy of AHL Live and displayed on screens throughout the restaurant and bar. The events are free and open to the public.
Fans can also watch or listen to Pirates games LIVE on the internet courtesy of AHL Live. Click the AHL Live icon on the left side of the Pirates home page or in the local Portland area fans can also listen to the U.S. Cellular Pirates/Radio Network. The U.S. Cellular Pirates/Radio Network includes the Pirates flagship station, The Bay 1400AM and 1490AM (Portland) and affiliates WEZR 1240 AM (Lewiston-Auburn), WTME 780 AM (Rumford) and WKTQ 1450 AM (South Paris).

PIRATES ON THE AIR... The Portland Pirates have announced that Time Warner Cable will rebroadcast the Portland Pirates game from Saturday, February 14th against the Providence Bruins. The game will be rebroadcast this week on Monday, February 16th at 8:00 p.m. The game will be rebroadcast on Time Warner Cable's TWC-TV (Channel 22 in Cumberland and York Counties and channel 9 or 12 in other areas).
Glynn on WJAB 96.3FM On Monday afternoon, Greg Glynn "The Voice of the Portland Pirates" will join "The PM Jab" with host Chris Sedenka at 4:45 p.m. Glynn will talk about what record Kevin Dineen is chasing and the team's recent victory over the Lowell Devils.
Dineen on WJAB 96.3FM On Tuesday morning, Portland Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen will join "The Morning Jab" with Shoe and Joe at 9:00 a.m. Dineen will talk about the team's recent success against Lowell and the Pirates upcoming game against the Springfield Falcons.
Dineen on WBLM 102.9 FM This Thursday, Portland Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen will join the Captain and Celeste on WBLM 102.9FM at 8:30 a.m. Tune to hear Dineen's thoughts on the upcoming road trip.
Weinrich on WJAB 96.3FM Assistant Coach Eric Weinrich will make his weekly appearance on "The PM Jab" with Chris Sedenka on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. Tune in for your chance to win free tickets to an upcoming Pirates game!
UPCOMING HOME GAMES... Pirates vs. Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. Labatt Blue Light Hockey Night in Portland! The Hartford Wolf Pack invade the Civic Center for an important divisional matchup.

Pirates vs. Lowell Devils Sunday, March, 1 at 4:00 p.m. Join the Pirates for a "Day of Hockey" to benefit the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center, presented by the Bill Dodge Auto Group and sponsored by Haley's Tire and the Cumberland County Civic Center.
COMING SOON... L.L.Bean Kids' Winter Fun Week Join Pirates mascot Crackers at L.L.Bean in Freeport, Maine on Wednesday, February 18th from 12-2 p.m. Crackers will be handing out free Pirates tickets and taking pictures with fans as part of L.L. Bean Kids' Winter Fun Week.
Pirates vs. Lowell Devils Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. The Pirates make their second and final trip this season to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, sponsored by Goodwill. The Pirates will face-off against division rival Lowell in an important match-up as the Pirates make their push toward the playoffs.
