Countdown to Face-Off
January 6, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference will square off at Wings Stadium this evening, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Greenville Road Warriors. Back on November 30th, the K-Wings lost their only other matchup thus far on the season versus the Road Warriors, a 5-2 setback at Wings Stadium.
Hitting the ice for the first time in 2012, the K-Wings are looking to kindle some of the same magic they had when they rang in the New Year with a 7-1 victory over the Toledo Walleye. Kalamazoo enters the night in first place in the North Division, two points ahead of the Chicago Express.
Tonight will be the fourth of a five-game road swing for the Greenville, who is 2-1-0-0 during the swing. The Road Warriors have won six of their eight (8-5-0-0) road games this season against teams from the North Division. Greenville is in second place in the South Division, two points behind the Gwinnett Gladiators.
