ECHL Kalamazoo Wings

Countdown to Face-Off

December 3, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Division rivals will square off this evening, as the Kalamazoo Wings travel to the WesBanco Arena to battle the Wheeling Nailers. So far this season, the teams have split the two previous contests, with each team winning on their own home ice.

Tonight starts a four-game road swing for the K-Wings. On the season, Kalamazoo is 3-4-1-1 away from Wings Stadium and has dropped two straight on the road. Besides the two-game road losing streak, Kalamazoo will attempt to snap a season-high five-game overall losing streak.

Spending plenty of time at home, this evening is the fifth contest of a season-high seven-game home stand for the Nailers. Wheeling has split the first two games of the stretch, which includes a 3-1 victory last Saturday against Kalamazoo.

Gill Returns

On Thursday, goaltender Riley Gill was returned on loan from the Worcester Sharks. Gill, who played in one game and backed up three others for the Sharks, stopped eight of the 10 shots in 20 minutes in his lone appearance on November 28th against the Mancester Monarchs.

Five Alive

Forward Trent Daavettila enters tonight on an impressive point streak. Daavettila has earned at least one point in each of his last five games.
