Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Ben Scrivens has been assigned to the Royals from the Marlies. In a separate transaction, the Marlies recalled forward Richard Greenop from the Royals. In another transaction previously completed, the Royals released goaltender Kris Mayotte.

This marks the third time that Scrivens has been assigned from Toronto to Reading. He is 4-3-0-0 in seven games with the Royals. His 2.46 goals against average is ninth best in the league; and his .931 save percentage is fourth best. During his latest stint in Toronto, Scrivens played two games for the Marlies and won them both-a 4-3 shoot out win over the Hamilton Bulldogs on November 20 and a 2-1 victory over the Syracuse Crunch on November 27. Scrivens has compiled a 1.94 goals against average and a .941 save percentage in the AHL this season. This is the first time that Greenop has been recalled to the Marlies since being assigned to Reading on October 8. In seventeen games with the Royals, Greenop has scored a goal, assisted on two others and registered twenty-four penalty minutes. Mayotte was signed by the Royals on Monday, November 29. He did not appear in a game in this stint with Reading.
