IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals will attempt to widen their four-point division lead over Reading when they take on the Royals at 7:05 p.m. at the Sovereign Center.

REIGNING ECHL MVP RETURNS

Tyler Donati was assigned to Elmira by the AHL's Connecticut Whale on Wednesday, giving the Jackals back their leading scorer from last season and the 2009-2010 ECHL MVP. Donati set club records last year with 114 points and 76 assists, becoming the first player in team history (ECHL or UHL) to achieve 100 points in a season. Tyler and twin brother Justin became the first brothers in professional hockey history to each total at least 100 points while playing on the same team in one season.

AWAY STALWARTS BACK ON ROAD

The Jackals have yet to lose in regulation when playing on the road this season, currently posting a 5-0-2-0 record in games played away from First Arena. Elmira's seven-game point streak in away contests is tied for the longest in the ECHL this season. Additionally, the Jackals special teams have been stellar on the road, with the power play scoring on 22.2% of its chances and the penalty kill succeeding 92.1% of the time. Elmira has not allowed an opponent to score on the power play on the road since Oct. 24 in Reading when the Royals scored two man-advantage goals.

JACKALS BACK HOME SATURDAY

Elmira is back at First Arena on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. on DeMet's Turtle Toss night as the Jackals play the Kalamazoo Wings for the first of nine times this season. For tickets, call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto JackalsHockey.com.
