Prince George Cougars News Release

Kennewick WA - The Prince George Cougars dropped their fourth game in a row, falling 4-3 to the Tri-City Americans, Saturday at the Toyota Centre.

The Cougars got into penalty trouble in the opening period, and Tri-City took full advantage. Adam Mechura started the scoring on the power-play just under 7 minutes into the game. Tri-City continued to pour it on, getting two more goals from Drew Freer and Tyson Greenway (power-play). The Cougars were down 3-0 after the opening 20 minutes.

In the second, Prince George turned it around, out-shooting the Americans 17-5 and got a pair of power-play goals from Chase Wheatcroft and Koehn Ziemmer. PG had great looks at the goal throughout the entire frame. Tri-City, however, held on to a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.

In the third, the Americans got back ahead by two, getting a goal from Jordan Gavin off a Cougars turnover to make it 4-2. The Cougars got within one with Carter MacAdams finding the back of the net. PG then had some looks at the goal with the extra attacker on the ice, but ran out of time, as the Americans held on for a 4-3 victory.
