Spokane Chiefs News Release
Brandon, M.B. - The Spokane Chiefs dropped their fourth-straight game on Saturday night against the Brandon Wheat Kings, 2-1.
The Chiefs again came out with a powerful performance to start the game, opening the scoring for a second night in a row as Manitoba native Ben Bonni found the twine for his third goal of the season. Chase Bertholet and Ty Cheveldayoff earned assists on the play, which put Spokane on top 1-0 at 3:30 in the second period.

Impressive defensive efforts, combined with spectacular saves by Dawson Cowan, helped the Chiefs carry that lead for half the period until Nate Danielson capitalized on a Brandon power play opportunity at 14:05 to send the teddy bears flying onto the ice at Westoba Place.
Spokane kept it close through the final 5:55 of the frame and went into the second intermission all tied up at 1-1.
The game-winning goal for the Wheat Kings came at 9:19 in the third, as Brett Hyland notched his 13th of the season on another man advantage.
Despite a few great looks, the Chiefs were unable to find the equalizer and an untimely penalty within the last two minutes of play sealed the 2-1 victory for Brandon.
Cowan earned third star honors after turning away 34-of-36 shots. Spokane's special teams went 0-for-6 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill. The Chiefs were outshot 36-27.
Up next, the team will have a few days of rest before heading to Moose Jaw to take on the Warriors. It's the third of six games Spokane will play on this eastern conference road trip before the holiday break.
