Regina Pats News Release

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg ICE host the Regina Pats on Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. inside the Wayne Fleming Arena, as the Pats end their three-in-three weekend on the road.

The Pats are coming off a 5-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. With the victory, the club has now won a season-high four straight wins. The Pats also won their third straight Teddy Bear Toss game, as Tanner Howe's 19th of the season littered the ice with bears. He is the first player in franchise history to score a Teddy Bear Toss goal in back-to-back years.

The Pats also got goals from Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A), Tanner Brown, Riley Ginnell and Layton Feist in the win. Drew Sim was spectacular in net, allowing just two goals on 40 shots for his sixth straight win. The final shots were 40-35 for Calgary. The Pats went 3-3 on the penalty kill and 1-4 on the power play.

Meanwhile, the Winnipeg ICE are coming off a 6-3 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, extending their winning-streak to two games. Zach Benson led the attack with his first WHL hat trick, Conor Geekie scored twice while Vladislav Shilo sealed the game with an empty net goal. Connor McClennon chipped in with three assists. Daniel Hauser made 25 saves. The ICE are playing their second game without defenceman Carson Lambos who was named to the roster for Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp.

The ICE had their 15 game winning-streak come to an end with a 2-1 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Nov, 22. The ICE are 4-3 over their last seven games since. They are still first in the WHL at 24-4-0-0 and 48 points.
