Sean Venedam and Mike Hofstrand picked up power play goals as the Bakersfield Condors picked up their third straight win over the San Diego Gulls with a 3-1 victory.
Friday, February 17th
CONDORS 5 vs. Idaho 4 (SO)
Attendance: 5,098
The Condors watched a 4-0 first-period lead over the Idaho Steelheads vanish in a game that saw 100 combined shots, 66 penalty minutes in the second period, and an overtime penalty shot. Mike Hofstrand would seal the game in the sixth round of the shootout to give the Condors the 5-4 victory at the Rabobank Arena.
Saturday, February 18th

Attendance: 7,264
Andrew Ianiero's shorthanded goal late in the third period brought the Bakersfield Condors within a goal of the visiting Idaho Steelheads, but tallies by David Bararuk and B.J. Crombeen in the second would be the difference in the Condors' 3-2 loss.
Where we are
The Condors (22-19-5, 49 points) stand four points ahead of San Diego for 3rd place in the Pacific Division. Bakersfield sits 15 points behind the Long Beach Ice Dogs for 2nd place with six fewer games played and four head-to-head matchups remaining. Fresno (30-10-10) leads the division with 70 points.
Notes from the Nest
-Kevin St. Jacques' ten-game point streak came to a halt in Friday's victory over the Steelheads.
-The 100 combined shots on goal between Bakersfield and Idaho on Friday were the most in a single Condors game this season.
-Mike Hofstrand carried a three-game goal streak which ended on Saturday.
-Andrew Ianiero currently ranks tied for second in the league with six shorthanded points. Ianiero scored his second shorthanded goal of the season on Friday, and is tied for the league lead with four shorthanded assists.
-With the win over the Gulls on Wednesday, the Condors improved their home record over Pacific Division opponents to 7-0-3.
-Ryan Munce leads the ECHL in three different goaltending categories: minutes (2202), saves (1194) and shootout victories (7).
Recent Transactions
Prior to Friday's contest with Idaho, Bakersfield announced the signing of Brad Mehalko, who scored 19 goals and 24 assists with the Condors in 2004- 05. Dave Bonk was placed on the 7-Day Injured Reserve on Thursday, while Andrew Ianiero was activated from the list the next day. The Condors also announced the release of Chris Hodgson earlier in the week.
