
Titans make trade for McCulloch

TRENTON, NJ (February 20, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Monday that they have acquired defenseman Dave McCulloch from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for forward Ned Havern.
In his second year of professional hockey, McCulloch has recorded three goals, three assists and 126 penalty minutes in 47 games for the Thunder this year. A twenty-three year old native of Lacome, Alberta, McCulloch split his rookie season last year between the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Louisiana Ice Gators totaling 15 points (4g, 11a) over 69 games. Prior to beginning his pro career, the six-foot, 190-pound blueliner picked up 25 points (5g, 20a) and 260 PIM over 114 contests at Harvard University (2000-04).
Havern, 23, leaves the Titans with 14 goals, 14 assists and 24 penalty minutes over 47 games. The rookie forward out of Arlington, Massachusetts was a four-year letterman at Boston College registering 28 goals and 29 assists in 151 games (2001-05). Havern was originally a ninth round draft pick (#273 overall) of the Dallas Stars in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
In a separate transaction, center Kiel McLeod has been recalled by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL).
McLeod, 23, was assigned by the Phantoms on February 4 and quickly racked up 5 goals and 4 assists in eight games for Trenton. McLeod has also appeared in ten games for the Phantoms, recording 15 penalty minutes. The Philadelphia Flyers acquired the third-year pro in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes on December 28, 2005. Before joining the Flyers organization, McLeod was a second round draft pick (#53 overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
