Chops Hand Flames 6-2 Loss

The Iowa Chops earned a 6-2 win in their first visit to the i wireless Center on Friday night. Six different Chops scored in the win as Quad City fell to 3-8-1-0 on the season. The Flames offense was provided by Jamie Lundmark and Carsen Germyn.

The Chops took a 1-0 lead at 13:14 of the first period when Andrew Ebbett netted his sixth goal of the year. The tally broke a string of six consecutive games that the Flames scored the game's first goal. Quad City tied the game with 58 seconds left in the first as Jamie Lundmark beat Iowa's J.P. Levasseur on a one-timer following a feed from Kyle Greentree.

The Flames took the lead for the first time at 4:14 of the second period when Carsen Germyn scored during a Flames power-play. Germyn scored by re-directing an Anders Eriksson pass into the Iowa net. The Chops answered back 2:27 later with a power-play goal of their own. Bobby Ryan scored his fifth power-play goal of the year following a cross-ice feed from Joakim Lindstrom. The power-play tally was followed by a shorthanded goal scored by Iowa's Josh Green at 12:37 of the middle period. Green forced a Flames turnover then skated in on a breakaway before beating Matt Keetley for his third goal of the season.

The Chops capped the victory with three unanswered third period goals. Joakim Lindstrom scored on the power-play following a feed from Brian Salcido at 6:23 of the third frame. Drew Miller scored his fifth goal of the year five minutes later before Ajay Baines capped the scoring with a breakaway goal to set the final at 6-2.

The Flames are back on the ice on Saturday night in San Antonio. The Hayman's Ace Hardware Pre-Game Show begins at 6:35 p.m. on 93.9 FM WYEC.
