P-Bruins Fall To Wolves 4-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Chicago Wolves 4-1 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Byron Bitz scored the P-Bruins goal. The P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday versus the Philadelphia Phantoms at 4:05 p.m.

The Wolves took the 1-0 advantage shorthanded at the 3:02 mark of the opening period. Mike Hoffman netted his first goal of the season with Jordan LaVallee and Steve Martins grabbing the assists. Chicago took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period the Wolves went up 2-0 at the 16:08 mark with a shorthanded goal. Scott Lehman tallied his first goal of the season, while Matt Anderson and Colin Stuart recorded the assists. The Wolves led 2-0 after two periods.

In the third period, Chicago scored early at the 1:01 mark to take a 3-0 lead. Jamie Rivers netted his second goal of the season, with Joey Crabb getting the lone assist. Moments later at the 2:34 mark, the Wolves took a 4-0 advantage. Grant Stevenson scored his fourth goal of the season, while Spencer Machacek and Arturs Kulda had the assists. The P-Bruins got on the board at the 4:43 mark of the period, with a power play goal. Johnny Boychuk had the puck at the right point and passed it to Mikko Lehtonen halfway down the boards. He tossed the puck in front of the net for Bitz who scored his second goal of the season.

Tuukka Rask stopped 21 of 25 shots for the P-Bruins, while Dan Turple made 35 saves for the Wolves.  The P-Bruins were 1-for-8 on the power play and 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins travel to the Times Union Center in Albany Saturday to take on the River Rats at 7:00 p.m. before returning home to The Dunk Sunday versus the Philadelphia Phantoms for Kid's T-Shirt Night at 4:05 p.m. Information on P-Bruins tickets can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at providencebruins.com.
