Worcester Sharks sign goaltender Gerald Coleman to a PTO

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed goaltender Gerald Coleman to a PTO (player tryout agreement). Per club policy, terms of the deal were undisclosed.
The 23-year-old Coleman played in five games with Phoenix (ECHL) this season recording a 2-1-1 record with a 1.48gaa and a .950% save percentage.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Romeoville, Illinois native split last season with Portland (AHL) and August (ECHL) compiling a 8-7-1 record with the Pirates and a 2-5-0 record with the Lynx.
Entering his fourth professional season, the former Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick in 2003 has played in the AHL with Portland and Springfield and the ECHL in Augusta and Johnstown. Coleman has appeared in two NHL contests playing in 43 minutes for the Tampa Bay Lighting recording a 0-0-1 record with a 2.77gaa and a .882% save percentage in the 2005-06 season.
Coleman will wear #30 for the Worcester Sharks.
The Sharks travel to Hartford (Friday, November 7th) and Binghamton (Saturday, November 8th) before returning home to face the Springfield Falcons on Veteran's Day (Tuesday, November 11th) at 1:05pm.
