Rochester Americans News Release

Tonight, the Rochester Americans remain at home for third game of its current season-long six-game homestand as the Manitoba Moose make their first visit of the season to The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.

Head to Head: The matchup marks the third of eight scheduled meetings between the North Division rivals this season. In their previous encounter, Rochester dropped a 4-1 decision to the Moose on October 18th at the MTS Centre. The Amerks are winless thus far against the Moose, suffering back-to-back losses as part of a two-game set earlier this season in Manitoba. Rochester is 15-22-1 lifetime against the Vancouver Canucks' affiliate.

Amerks Notes: The Amerks (1-9-0-0, 2 points) enter the weekend currently riding a four-game skid after falling short in a 5-3 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs last Saturday night at The Blue Cross Arena. The loss was Rochester's ninth in its last 10 games. Second-year forwards Tanner Glass (3+3) and Kenndal McArdle (2+4), along with rookie defenseman Jason Garrison (1+5) are locked in a three-way tie with six points apiece for the team lead. Garrison's six points currently ranks him tied for 17th among active American Hockey League defensemen while his five assists are a team best. Karl Stewart found the back of the net for the fourth time this season last weekend to reclaim the team lead. Duco remains the league and team leader with 76 penalty minutes (PIM) with McArdle a distant second with 41 PIM for second on the team and 16th in the league, respectively.

McArdle, David Brine and Jacob Micflikier are presently in the midst of three-game point streaks. Brine has picked up an assist in each of his last three outings, while McArdle has a goal to go along with a pair of helpers. Micflikier has racked up five points (1+4) in his last three appearances, with his most impressive performance coming in a three-point effort against Hershey on October 26th.

Moose Notes: Manitoba (8-2-0-0, 16 points), playing Game 5 of a seven-game road swing, approaches the contest the winners of its last eight games to earn a second place standing a point behind Hamilton in the North Division. The Moose's most recent win came in a 4-0 shutout over the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena last Sunday. Mark Cullen is currently Manitoba's top point-getter with eight points (3+5) in 10 games. His five assists and plus-six rating are both good enough for second best on the team. Third-year forward Michael Grabner paces the goal count for the Moose with a team-high five in 10 games. Cory Schneider holds the top goals-against average among league netminders with a 1.29 rating, while his .942 save percentage ties him for third. His six wins are also good enough for second best in the league.

Next Game: Rochester is back at The Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, November 8th against the Houston Aeros. The contest is the first of two tilts between the two teams this season. Faceoff is slated for a 7:35 p.m. start and can be heard live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. After the game, fans can head down to The Distillery located at 1142 Mt. Hope Ave. for the official postgame party.
