El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
The Chihuahuas scored all of their runs on two out hits in El Paso's 5-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees Friday night at Smith's Ballpark. Down 1-0 in the fifth, Chris Nelson hit a two-run triple off the right field wall to put El Paso ahead. Cody Decker then drove in Nelson one batter later. In the top of the seventh, Decker's two-run double put the Chihuahuas ahead 5-1.
El Paso's Matt Wisler matched his longest start of the season, hurling seven innings and allowing just one run. Chihuahuas reliever Bobby LaFromboise pitched two scoreless innings to close the game. The Chihuahuas have now won three games in a row and nine of their last 13.
Reymond Fuentes went 2-for-4 in his first start since returning from Double-A San Antonio. Friday was the first of 16 meetings between the Bees and Chihuahuas from July 4th through September 1st.
