WEEKLY SUMMARY: The Johnstown Chiefs (11-12-7) went 2-0-0 heading out of the holiday break. The Chiefs beat the Trenton Titans for the third consecutive time, Friday, 2-1. On New Years Eve, the Chiefs entertained an SRO crowd with four unanswered goals in the 3rd period to win 7-4. The resulting wins kept the Chiefs in a 4th place tie with Toledo, but also closed the gap with third place Trenton, to three points. The Chiefs will host the Reading Royals on Friday, then begin a four game set with Dayton, at home on Saturday. The Chiefs then travel to Dayton for an afternoon tilt. The Bombers trail the Chiefs by eight points in the North Division.

LAST WEEK¡¦S RESULTS (home team in caps)

Game #29 (12/30/05) TRENTON 1 ¡V Johnstown 2 Boutin 42 saves Jonathan Boutin and Jean Desrochers carried the Chiefs to victory. Jean Desrochers dominated the first period, creating three breakaways¡Xscoring on one, hitting the post on the 2nd, and drawing a penalty on the third. Jonathan Boutin dominated the third period, stopping 18 of 19 shots. Brett Peterson deflected a Tyler Kindle blast on what turned out to be the game winner at 8:41 of the third. Ben Wallace and Steve Cygan picked up assists on Desrochers goal.

Game #30 (12/31/05) JOHNSTOWN 7 ¡V Columbia 4 Boutin 31 saves Trailing 4-3 entering the third period, the Chiefs reeled off four consecutive unanswered goals. Randy Rowe scored the Chiefs first hat trick of the season, while Adam Henrich added a pair, including an empty netter from 140 feet. Doug Andress added a career high five assists. Joe Tallari added an assist and the tying goal, and Dmitri Tarabrin¡¦s great individual effort to create a breakaway provided the game winner.

UPCOMING OPPONENTS: Friday, January 6 vs Reading Royals 7:30 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs host the Royals on Friday. Reading has won both prior meetings this season, both in Johnstown. The last Reading victory coming on December 9, by a score of 7-2. The Chiefs will face the Royals four times in January.

Saturday, January 7 vs. Dayton Bombers 7:00 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs will face the Dayton Bombers four times in five days beginning on Saturday. The Chiefs won the only previous matchup, 4-0. Justin Kelly, Adam Henrich, Joe Tallari, and Brandon Elliott scored for the Chiefs. Jonathan Boutin picked up his first professional shutout, stopping 31 shots.

Sunday, January 8 @ Dayton Bombers 2:00 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The 2nd of four straight meetings between the two clubs and the Chiefs first visit to Dayton this season.
