Idaho Steelheads News Release

Salt Lake City, UT - The Idaho Steelheads (16-15-5) rode 37 saves from Jack Campbell to their second consecutive shutout win, a 1-0 decision over the Utah Grizzlies (18-13-2) at Maverik Center. It was the Steelheads sixth consecutive win over Utah this season and fourth straight win at Maverik Center.

The Steelheads are now 9-1-1 in their past 11 games, while the Grizzlies were handed their first three-game losing streak of the season. The Steelheads have now moved within one point of the Grizzlies atop the West Division standings, with the Grizzlies holding three games in hand.

Campbell made 20 saves in the third period to cement the win for the Steelheads, the team's first back-to-back shutouts since January 2nd and 3rd of last season The Steelheads defeated the Colorado Eagles by the same 1-0 score on Saturday night. Campbell has not given up a goal in the last 173:32 of play, dating back to the first period of last Friday's game against Colorado.

The Steelheads grabbed the lead early in the first period on a power play goal by Jefferson Dahl, his team-leading 15th goal of the year and league-leading ninth power play goal of the season.

At 2:20 of the first, Dahl received a pass from Rob Linsmayer in the high slot and pushed a puck towards the Utah net that deflected off defenseman Corey Fienhage, popped up in the air over the shoulder of Utah goaltender Ryan Faragher, and dropped in the back of the net. It was the only goal Faragher would surrender, stopping 22 shots on the night. The Steelhead power play is now nine for its last 20 against the Grizzlies.

The Steelhead penalty kill also had a role to play, killing off all four Utah power plays thanks in large part to the shot blocking work of Carson McMillan. The Steelhead penalty kill was also perfect in last Saturday's win over Colorado, going five-for-five in that game.

The Steelheads have handed the Grizzlies four of their seven home losses this season.

The Steelheads can claim first place in the West with a regulation win tomorrow night against the Grizzlies at Maverik Center. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:05pm MT, with the game available on radio on 1350AM KTIK and seen on ECHLTV.
