Indy Fuel News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Garett Bembridge and Adam Lapsansky each tallied two assists while Mac Carruth made 28 saves to lead the Indy Fuel past the Evansville IceMen 3-2 on Friday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

After allowing an early goal just 2:01 into the game, the Fuel (15-18-2-0) responded with plenty of offensive pressure and finally broke through at 13:21 of the second period. Ben Marshall unleashed a wrist shot from the right wing that beat IceMen goalie Christoffer Bengstberg (33 saves) low to the stick side to knot the game at 1-1.

Just three minutes later the Fuel followed that up when Patrick Koudys scored his first professional goal on a wrist shot from the high slot that sailed in over the right shoulder of Bengstberg. Bembridge picked up his second assist of the night on the goal while Lapsansky recorded his first pro point in North America on the play.

Evansville (12-16-3-1) would respond quickly, trailing for only 40 seconds before Danny Hobbs netted his second of the evening and the teams headed to the intermission tied at 2-2.

In the third both clubs came out firing, combining for 27 shots in the frame. At 12:28, Mike Colantone one-timed an Alex Lavoie pass high to the glove side of Bengstberg for the game-winning goal. Lapsansky also added his second assist of the night on the play.

The same two teams go right back at it tomorrow night at 7:35 pm, followed by a Sunday road game in Wheeling against the Nailers. The Morellis Cleaners Pre-game Show starts 15 minutes before every puck drop on CBS Sports 1430.
