Buban Homers in 3-2 Kenosha Win

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Kenosha Kingfish (8-8) tied the 2020 Kenosha Series 8-8 on a 3-2 win over the K-Town Bobbers (8-8) on Saturday night at Simmons Field.

K-Town shortstop Nick Gonzalez (USF) put the Bobbers up 1-0 in the first inning when he scored on a fielder's choice.

K-Town went up 2-0 in the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Jordan Schulefand (University of Richmond) that drove in Jared Weber (Florida A&M).

In the 5th inning, Mitchell Buban (UW-Milwaukee) cut into the Bobbers lead on a solo home run to right field that put the Kingfish behind 2-1. Later in the frame, Drew Dyer (Carthage College) tied the game 2-2 when he drove in Marc Filia (UC-San Diego) on a double.

Justin Janas (Illinois) gave Kenosha the lead 3-2 in the 6th inning when he scored on an error by Gonzalez.

Jacob DeLabio (Carthage College) earned the win pitching 2.1 shutout innings on one strikeout and allowed three hits.

Christian Horner (Palm Beach Atlantic) got the loss pitching 2.2 innings allowing one run on two hits and a walk.

Nick Meyer (Otterbein University) finished the game getting the last two outs of the 9th inning on a double play.

Ryan O'Hara (Illinois) pitched 4.1 innings in his fourth start for K-Town allowing two runs, both of them earned, on two hits while striking out three.

Kingfish starting pitcher Brock Weirather (Grinnell College) pitched 4.2 innings allowing two runs, both earned, on seven hits with one strikeout.

The fourth leg of the 2020 Kenosha Series concludes at Simmons Field on Sunday with the Kingfish hosting the Bobbers at 4:05 p.m. CT.
