Kansas City Brigade News Release
Kansas City, Mo. (Nov. 29) - The second season of the Kansas City Brigade starts at home in Kemper Arena, as the defending ArenaBowl champion Chicago Rush comes to town on Sunday, March 4. It is the first of two division games to open the season as the Brigade hits the road in Week 2 to renew a growing rivalry with John Elway's Colorado Crush, who plays at Kemper on Friday, April 27. Week 2 also marks the return to Denver of former Crush kicker Clay Rush, a St. Louis native and Missouri Western graduate who signed with the Brigade in October.
The Brigade has been realigned for 2007 to the American Conference Central Division with Chicago, Colorado, the Grand Rapids Rampage and Nashville Kats (see chart below schedule). The Rampage comes to town for the first time on Saturday, April 14 and the Kats visit Kansas City for the 2007 home finale on Saturday, June 16. Other conference home games on the schedule include Western Division foes the Arizona Rattlers (Friday, March 30), Utah Blaze (Saturday, May 12) and Los Angeles Avengers (Saturday, May 26).
The only home date against the National Conference is a rematch with the Dallas Desperados (Friday, March 16), the Brigade's inaugural opponent in 2006. The team also plays at the Philadelphia Soul, New York Dragons and Columbus Destroyers, all of whom were on the 2006 schedule. The Brigade's first-ever win came against the Destroyers and free agent acquisition DaShane Dennis played for the Dragons last season.
The 17-week schedule includes a bye in Week 4 between two home games, constituting the Brigade's only home stand of the season. The team also has a two-game road swing to upper Midwest in the last month of the season. The Brigade's 2007 season concludes at Chicago on Saturday, June 23.
The road to ArenaBowl XXI begins with the wild card round from June 29 to July 1. The divisional round follows from July 6 to July 8 and the conference championship games will be held on July 14 and 15. ArenaBowl XXI is scheduled for July 29 at New Orleans Arena. National, regional and local TV and radio information will be released soon.

Brigade realigned to new division for upcoming season
The Arena Football League's Board of Directors approved in October the realignment of two teams for the 2007 season, causing a change of scenery for the Brigade. The team will shift to the American Conference Central Division this year after spending its inaugural season in the National Conference Southern Division.
The change was made because the New Orleans VooDoo has rejoined the AFL after a one-year hiatus following Hurricane Katrina. The VooDoo will return to the Southern Division in place of the Brigade.
The other 17 teams will remain in their 2006 divisions in the second realignment in as many years. The addition of the expansion Brigade and the Utah Blaze last season caused the previous shuffle. The VooDoo gives the league 19 teams to compete for the ArenaBowl XXI title in 2007.
