
BlueClaws send three to All-Star Game

LAKEWOOD, N.J. â The Lakewood BlueClaws are pleased to announce that the South Atlantic League coaches, team and media representatives have selected Ryan Frith (UT), Jason Jaramillo (C) and Sam Orr (DH) to represent the club in the 46th annual South Atlantic League All-Star game Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta, Georgia.
"We couldn't be happier to have those three outstanding players represent our team at the All-Star Game this year," said Lakewood BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "Not only has their play on the field been tremendous, their efforts in the community have had a positive influence on many people."
Frith is currently second in team batting average at .319 including 13 doubles, seven home runs and 27 RBI. The Beaumont, TX native has hit .435 in the last five games and belted three home runs, including one of the BlueClaws three grand slams.
Jaramillo has seen his average dip to .286 but spent the majority of the first-half batting over .300, peaking at a .347 clip. The BlueClaws catcher has 11 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and 23 RBI. Jaramillo currently resides in Franksville, WI.
Sam Orr has had a number of clutch performances at the plate this season and has steadily raised his average to .280. A daily staple at third, Orr leads the team in home runs 10 and RBI with 43. Orr, a native of La Mirada, CA is tied with Frith for the team in doubles with 13 and has smacked three triples.
The BlueClaws are currently on the road through June 20 and will return home prior to the All-Star break for a six-game home stand against the New York Mets class-A affiliate, Hagerstown June 21-24 and a two-game set versus Delmarva, SAL club of the Baltimore Orioles June 25-26.
