INF Jio Mier hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to give the Bisons a 5-3 win in Lehigh Valley. It was Mier's second home run in three days. INF Andy Burns also homered and four Bisons' relievers combined to strike out five in four scoreless innings of work.

vs. Louisville (0-0)

This is the first of six meetings between the former American Association rivals. Buffalo will travel to Louisville Slugger Field next Monday. The Bats won the season series last year, 4-3, but the Bisons have the 247-184 advantage (.573) since 1985.

Roberto Hernandez

RHP Roberto Hernandez makes his 11th start of the season tonight, eight of which have come at home. The veteran is 3-1 with a 4.14 ERA in his previous seven outings at Coca-Cola Field. That includes last Wednesday, when he matched a season best with 6.1 innings of work and six strikeouts in a 6-4 victory over the Durham Bulls.

Andy Burns

INF Andy Burns homered and doubled as part of a three-hit game on Sunday. It was Burns' 17th double of the season, which is just one shy of the IL lead. The versatile fielder now has 43 doubles among his 193 hits in 179 career Triple-A games.

Ben Rowen

RHP Ben Rowen has not allowed a run in almost a month and a half. The reliever has made 15 scoreless appearances since May 8, a stretch that includes 21.1 innings of work, nine base hits and 17 strikeouts. Rowen has allowed just two of 18 inherited runners to score.

Ryan Tepera

RHP Ryan Tepera has converted his last nine save changes, five of which have been more than three outs. In his last 11 outings since May 15, the righty has posted a 1.10 ERA with 17 strikeouts to only six hits allowed in 16.1 IP. Opponents are hitting just .202 off Tepera this year.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons' 24-6 record (.800) when scoring first is the 2nd-best mark in the International League...Buffalo is also 20-14 in games decided by two runs or less. The Herd's pitching staff leads all IL clubs with 25 saves...Because of his league-best 89.2 innings of work, LHP Wade LeBlanc is only 26.1 innings of reaching year-end qualification. His 1.71 ERA leads the International League.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (38-33) were on the short side of an 11-6 score in Baltimore on Sunday. SS Troy Tulowitzki and 2B Devon Travis both homered in the loss. Travis was a perfect 3-3 with three RBI. RHP Marcus Stroman allowed seven runs over 3.2 innings to fall to 6-3 on the season. Toronto is off today and will host Arizona for a two-game set starting tomorrow night.
