Two Home Runs Push Bats Past Bisons, 4-1

BUFFALO, NY- The Louisville Bats took the first game of the four-game series at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, 4-1. Scott Schebler scored twice and clubbed three doubles in route to a 4-4 night to continue his hot-hitting month of June.

Second baseman Jermaine Curtis' solo home run in the third was the first of two home runs for the Bats, with the second being a two-run home run by left fielder Steve Selsky. The final RBI of the game was also credited to Selsky after a double in the eighth.

Right-handed pitcher Jon Moscot (3-3, 5.73) held Buffalo to just one run after six and two-thirds innings pitched. He earned and secured his victory with a save from right-handed pitcher Jumbo Diaz throwing 97 pitches and 62 strikes. Moscot allowed seven hits, three walks and struck out two.

Louisville handed the loss to right-handed pitcher Roberto Hernandez (3-3, 4.48) of Buffalo. His four earned runs in seven and two-thirds innings was the difference. His line was completed with eight hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.

Game two begins at 7:05 pm Tuesday evening in Buffalo with the Bats' right-handed pitcher Robert Stephenson (4-3, 3.29) going head-to-head with the Bisons' left-handed pitcher John Anderson (0-1, 6.43).
